1. Overview
Let's Gonzo ("we," "our," or "the app") is a mobile app that lets friends create and join live "shows" — competitions that track movement and activity during a concert or live event using a live leaderboard. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use Let's Gonzo, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Let's Gonzo is built and operated by BenefitsGuide. By using the app, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Data we collect
| Category | Examples | Why we collect it |
|---|---|---|
| Account information | Name, email, profile identifier | To create and manage your account, via Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In |
| Health & fitness data | Steps, active calories, heart rate, exercise minutes | To power the live leaderboard during a show you've joined (see Section 3) |
| Show/event data | Shows you create or join, your rank, timestamps | Core functionality of the app |
| Device & usage data | Push notification token, crash and error logs | To send optional notifications and fix bugs (see Sections 6 and Diagnostics below) |
3. Health & fitness data
With your explicit permission, Let's Gonzo reads the following data from Apple Health (HealthKit):
- Step count
- Active energy (calories) burned
- Heart rate
- Exercise minutes
We never sell your health data, and we never share it with advertisers, data brokers, or any third party for marketing purposes. Your raw health readings are never shown to anyone other than you — other participants in a show only ever see aggregated results (like your rank and total steps for that show), never your raw underlying data.
You can decline Health access entirely and still use the app; declining means the app cannot display your activity on the leaderboard, but you can still create and join shows.
4. How we use your data
- To create your account and let you sign in
- To let you create and join shows with friends
- To calculate and display live leaderboards during a show, based on activity data
- To generate your final results and shareable summary card at the end of a show
- To send optional notifications you've opted into (show reminders, leaderboard position changes, results)
- To diagnose and fix crashes or technical issues
- To keep the app and its users safe (for example, responding to abuse reports)
6. Data storage & security
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure with access controls (Row-Level Security) that ensure your data is only accessible to you and, where applicable, the specific show participants you've chosen to share it with. We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted connections between the app and our servers.
7. Push notifications
If you allow notifications, we may send you: reminders before a show you've joined starts, alerts when your leaderboard position changes, and a summary when a show ends. You can turn any of these on or off individually in the app's Notification Settings, or disable all notifications from your device's Settings app at any time.
8. Data retention & deletion
We retain your account and show data for as long as your account is active, so you can view your past shows and results.
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time, directly in the app:
- Open Let's Gonzo and go to Settings
- Tap Delete account
- Confirm the deletion
This immediately and permanently removes your account, profile, and health data readings associated with your account from our systems. This action cannot be undone. If you're unable to access the app, you can request deletion by contacting us (see Section 12).
9. Your rights & choices
- Access and control: you can view your own show history and stats within the app at any time.
- Health data permission: you can revoke Apple Health access at any time via your device's Settings app under Privacy & Security → Health.
- Notifications: manageable in-app or via device Settings, as described in Section 7.
- Deletion: as described in Section 8.
- Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as access, correction, or portability of your data). Contact us using the information in Section 12 to exercise these rights.
10. Children's privacy
Let's Gonzo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
